Laith H. Jamil, MD,is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine, Baghdad University. He completed his internal medicine residency during which he served as chief resident at Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan,a gastroenterology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, fellowships in hepatology/liver transplant and in advanced endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr Jamil is the Program Director for the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program and the Endoscopy Training Director for the GI fellowship program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also the Associate Director for Interventional Endoscopy. He is the past President of the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Jamil's primary clinical focus is on interventional endoscopy.He has written articles on numerous subjects related to the field that have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,American Journal of Gastroenterology, Gastroenterology, among others. Dr. Jamil is an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Gastroenterology.

Dr Jamil has been involved in several committees and currently is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Standards of Practice Committee, member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Educational Committee and Membership Committee.
