I’m actually the head of the Digestive Oncology Medico-surgical Department. My main activity is therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). My hospital is the second largest Oncology Center in France with more than 7200 new cases of cancer per year.

We perform more than 7000 endoscopic procedures per year including 1300 EUS ,850 EUS guided biopsies and 1200 ERCP.

My main interest is pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine tumors and hepatocellular carcinoma. I’m in charge of the protocol of pre-operative treatment of pancreatic cancer. I have conducted a randomized study which compare 2 types of biliary drainage (EUS guided vs PTC) when ERCP failed.

I have introduced and developed in France since 1991 linear EUS and EUS-FNA. I have also introduced therapeutic EUS as pancreatic pseudocyst drainage, biliary EUS guided anastomosis and pancreatico-gastrostomy under EUS guidance.

In 1995, we started the endoscopic treatment of superficial GI cancer using EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection). I learned in NCI Tokyo Institute (PrGotoda) ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection). I started also endomicroscopy in may 2006 (first French hospital equipped in confocal endoscopic) and we are one of the first centre in the world to realize confocal microscopy in the bile duct and intratumoral confocal microscopy under EUS guidance.

More recently, we have introduced RF ablation for pancreatic tumors as neuroendocrine tumor, renal pancreatic metastasis and some IPMN with worrisome features
