CIGEPS 2019 breaks attendance record in its second edition

Guayaquil hosted the second edition of the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON GASTROENTEROLOGY AND ENDOSCOPY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC (CIGEPS 2019), which took place from 3-5 May 2019. These conferences were attended by more than 600 national and foreign doctors specialized in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy, and related areas, who were able to learn and use the new technological advances in the field.



Avant-Garde and Technology in Sixth Live Endoscopy Course

Medical practices (or Hands ON), live transmissions, simultaneous translations, talks, workshops and scientific expositions were part of the agenda of the VI Live Endoscopy Course 2017, which took place from 26 to 28 May in the city of Guayaquil.



FIRST POEM Web Symposium in Ecuador

The event, which is aimed at all general practitioners, gastroenterologists, digestive endoscopy specialists and medical students in LATIN AMERICA, will be held TOTALLY FREE on SATURDAY 10 DECEMBER 2016, from 08h40 to 15h00.

Foreign doctors prefer to prepare in Ecuador

The country became attractive for foreign doctors in the field of digestive diseases. The Pentax Training Center Ecuador, a reference institute of the World Endoscopy Organization, located at the Omni Hospital in Guayaquil, welcomes about three doctors per month from different parts of the world.





Three operating rooms were the setting for the IV Live Endoscopy Course 2015, organized by the Ecuadorian Institute of Digestive Diseases (Ieced) and the Training Center of the World Endoscopy Organization in Ecuador (Pentax) on June 19, 20 and 21. Foreign and national experts in gastroenterology gathered at the Omni Hospital auditorium, where non-conventional procedures and advances in diagnostic endoscopy were transmitted live and live.



II Endoscopy Course 2013
From June 21 to 23, 2013 the Pentax Training Center under the direction of Dr. Carlos Robles Medranda conducted three courses, which were part of the second course of endoscopy and which consisted of a training course in endoscopic ultrasound, an endoscopy course and a hands on course. During the three days, national and international guest professors gave talks, conferences and hands on courses to strengthen knowledge and share experiences.
The second endoscopy course at the Pentax Trainig Center was supported by the World Endoscopy Organization, UEES, IECED and Omnihospital.

I Endoscopy Course 2012
On June 23 and 24, 2012, with the support of the World Endoscopy Organization, UEES, IECED and the Omnihospital, the Pentax Training Center conducted the first live endoscopy course, led by Dr. Carlos Robles Medranda. Both national and international professors (Europe, North and South America) participated.
Live endoscopic procedures were performed in the Omnihospital operating rooms and transmitted in high definition to the Omnihospital auditorium.

Inauguration of the Pentax Training Center
The Pentax Training Center was founded in 2012 at the Omnihospital in the city of Guayaquil. It is the only one in the country accredited by the World Endoscopy Organization. Its objective is to promote high standards in training by offering endoscopy courses, guided tours and conferences to achieve:
- Development of new technologies and application of new indications of current technology according to the needs of medical opinion leaders.
- Promote knowledge of technology to physicians, paramedics and staff in training.
- Disseminate the technology they possess, especially its correct use as well as develop new technology.
